Spending most of his life in Texas, David Olson has been a Katy ISD resident for over 15 years. David has worked in the Petrochemical industry for over 30 years. His two children have both attended Katy ISD schools and David has been actively involved in their time at Stanley Elementary, Seven Lakes Junior High, Adams Junior High, Seven Lakes High School, and Jordan High School. His wife is an employee of Katy ISD within the Transportation department. The Olsons have been active members first at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community and currently St Faustina Catholic Church. As a Katy ISD board member, he will continue the push for parental involvement in their children’s education. David will also look to remove obstacles and keep high quality teachers at Katy ISD. David has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
Maintain fiscal responsibility and keep the district accountable to its residents. Prioritize spending on the classroom.
Parents should be partners with teachers in the education of their children, not be at risk of exclusion.
Focus on the basics - academic achievement of our students and preparation for the future, and not engage in student indoctrination.
Provide the necessary resources, eliminate excessive bureaucracy, and provide discipline support - Improve their working conditions. Teachers are the biggest factor in determining student success.
